Going to buy a budget mobile? 4 pros and 4 cons

Moto E, Micromax Unite 2, Nokia X and others are just few notable budget mobile devices that are flooding the market right now.

So here are 4 pros and 4 cons of budget mobile phones in general, do look at them before making the final choice.

Pros:

1. Very cheap.  between 6999-7999/- these phones give a bang for your buck. Among them, I would sort in the following order: Motorala E>Micromax Unite 2> Nokia x
I only gave Moto E the highest rating since it has gorilla glass. Otherwise Micromax Unite 2 deserved that spot.

2.  Great for almost any major work that can be done on a mobile. Gaming, watching Movies and others.

3.  Compact in most cases as all the over sized suit pocket friendly phones are much costlier. Well, maybe not Nokia XL. its quite cheap but does not fall into the 7-8 thousand INR segment i am writing about.

4. Sold everywhere, even at your local neighborhood "mobile shoppe". So no need to go find a shopping mall somewhere where employees frown at you when you mention your budget. Trust me. This happens more than you think.

Cons:

1. Accessories are bare minimum in some cases. Quality wise i mean. The earplugs suffer the most. They become so ultra generic that its a wonder why they even bother to include them in the first place. so you have to shovel out a few hundred rupees more and get a better quality Headphone. I recommend skullycandy earplugs. they range between 600-800/- , there are more pricey ones if you prefer.

2. The margin of Profit on things like Screen Guards and Flip covers become very low. Hence most shops don't stock them for budget phones. even though they stock the phones. also, even if you manage to find a case or a screen guard, they are off very inferior quality. in this regard, Micromax Unite 2 and Micromax Phones in general suffer the most. so if you are the kind of person who likes to keep their possessions in the best condition possible, do inquire of the cover and guard situation before plunging in and making the decision.

3. Build quality may suffer in certain cases. If you think i am being biased, just hold a Lumia and a Nokia X and compare. the Nokia x is guaranteed to be somewhat flimsy. But i am nitpicking i suppose. this aspect depends on the buyer. Most people want their phones to be solid as rocks. in case of budget buyers this is a very wanted aspect. since they might not buy another phone again for 5 more years or more.

4. Last but not the least, they may suffer from support issues. problems may arise at random. My Nokia X screen went completely white after just 3 days of usage. I went to a Nokia Certified/Authorized service center and they themselves complained of the poor build quality. I got a replacement and asked for a Lumia 520, but i could have done without the hardship.

Well that's about all the things i could think off. i am not fan-boying, and you must admit i thought off some valid points. Do leave your comments below. I am still new at this, so i need your feedback and support.

Some Links:

1. Nokia X: http://goo.gl/PKTthb   Don't buy it in shops as they are asking anywhere between 1000 to 1500 rupees extra for it.

1.1 Nokia X flip cover : http://goo.gl/ZcPLUa  Nokia X screen guard is available easily in the shops so i am not posting it.

2. Micromax Unite 2: http://goo.gl/NuFVkB

2.1 Micromax Unite 2 cover: http://goo.gl/QWcdLE  for screen guard, use a Galaxy Grand Quattro one. it will just cover the screen. I am using the same.

3. Moto E: http://goo.gl/houI45

3.1 Moto E cover: http://goo.gl/R0q8oh   Moto E screen guard is available easily. if not: http://goo.gl/d5ahrr this is a matte screen guard. very cool. i use one on my lumia 520. :-)
